Why split before you drive
Money talk after the trip is always worse. The math is trivial — litres = distance × consumption ÷ 100, cost = litres × price, divide by heads — but doing it out loud in advance turns "so, uh, fuel?" into a settled fact. Send the result with the share button and nobody rides awkward.
Two honesty rules make the number fair. Use your real consumption — spirited driving runs 20–40% over the official figure. And count the driver as a person: they're paying with wear, attention and the designated-driver seat; they shouldn't also subsidize the fuel.
